* WHAT...Minor to locally moderate coastal flooding with elevated surf and dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands, Ventura County Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches. * WHEN...Until 11 PM PDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Moderate flooding of sea water is likely over some vulnerable low-lying coastal areas, especially around the time of high tide, including over beach parking lots, bike paths, and harbor walkways. Moderate beach erosion is likely. Isolated damage is unlikely but possible in most vulnerable areas. There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas of most concern regarding coastal flooding impacts are the beaches from Malibu to Ventura especially on Thursday and Friday. These products will likely need to be extended into the weekend.

* WHAT...Up to 0.8 ft of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Bayshore locations along the San Pablo Bay. * WHEN...Until 1 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...High tides will result in flooding of low-lying infrastructure, isolated road closures, and coastal erosion. Rising tides will bring water and waves farther up the beach than normal, restricting escape from beaches and coastal areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At the San Francisco tidal gauge, high tide is expected to be 0.6 ft above normal (6.44 ft MLLW) at 10:19 AM Wednesday 10/7 and 0.8 ft above normal (6.68 ft MLLW) at 10:51 AM Thursday 10/8. These predictions include up to 0.9 ft of surge that will enhance the astronomical tide and flooding threat. High tide varies up to 90 minutes earlier or later along the Pacific Coast and through the San Francisco Bay, respectively.
