Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Lac qui Parle, Chippewa and Yellow Medicine Counties. .Rainfall from Monday night has caused area rivers to rise. Additional rain is possible this afternoon. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Minnesota River at Montevideo. * WHEN...From this evening until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Low lying areas and some roads along the river begin flooding, along with some basements of houses along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 900 AM CDT Wednesday, the stage was 13.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening and continue rising to a crest of 14.6 feet early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.6 feet on 07/26/1962.

Additional rainfall may also be possible Wednesday. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Minnesota River at Morton. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Riverside Rd and Front Street flooded in North Redwood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 900 AM CDT Wednesday, the stage was 21.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 900 AM CDT Wednesday was 21.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.2 feet Friday evening. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.2 feet on 05/02/2006.
