...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Florida... St Johns River Near Astor affecting Volusia and Lake Counties. .The St Johns River at Astor remains within Minor Flood Stage. River levels are forecast to gradually subside the rest of this week, but remain within Minor Flood stage due to a combination of tide effects and additional rainfall. For the St. Johns River...including Astor...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...St Johns River near Astor. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 2.3 feet, Many docks become submerged along the river and in canals in the Astor community. Water enters yards of properties on Bartram Road, Holiday Circle and along Wild Hog Road on the Lake County side. In Volusia County, water encroaches yards of homes on the river side of Alice Drive. No wake zones are in effect from near the South Moon Canal to approximately 800 feet south of the Riverview lodge. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 2.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 2.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM EDT Thursday was 2.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to very slowly subside from 2.4 feet tonight to 2.3 feet late this week. - Flood stage is 2.3 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 2.4 feet on 06/06/2023. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Some storm drains will overflow, and some seawalls and docks will be overtopped. Boaters can expect less clearance under fixed bridges. Motorists should remember that persistent puddles around the times of high tide are almost certain to contain a mix of saltwater.

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Walton and Bay County Beaches. * WHEN...From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Forecast surf heights up to 3 feet fosters a high rip current at the Panhandle beaches beginning this afternoon and persisting into at least this weekend.
