* WHAT...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and relative humidity between 7 to 15 percent. * WHERE...Mogollon Rim, Kaibito Plateau, Painted Desert, Kaibab Plateau, Grand Canyon Country, Coconino Plateau, Little Colorado River Valley in Coconino County, Little Colorado River Valley in Navajo County, and Black Mesa Area. This includes portions of the Apache-Sitgreaves, Coconino, and Kaibab national forests. * WHEN...Until 8 PM MST /9 PM MDT/ this evening. * IMPACTS...Rapid spread and growth of any new or existing fires. Fires will have the potential to exhibit extreme fire behavior. Elevated potential for new fire starts.

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) has extended an Ozone High Pollution Advisory for the Yuma area through Thursday. This means that forecast weather conditions combined with existing ozone levels are expected to result in local maximum 8-hour ozone concentrations that pose a health risk. Adverse health effects increase as air quality deteriorates. Ozone is an air contaminant which can cause breathing difficulties for children as well as persons with respiratory problems. A decrease in physical activity is recommended. You are urged to car pool, telecommute or use mass transit. The use of gasoline-powered equipment should be reduced or done late in the day.
