Periods of moderate to heavy rain over the past 24 hours have saturated the hillsides around Kodiak. Some landslides have already been reported. Additional rainfall of 2-3 inches is possible through early Saturday. Movement of saturated soils and areas of overburden are possible as rainfall continues in the area. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...The following area, Kodiak Island. This includes the city of Kodiak City. * WHEN...Through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Periods of moderate to excessive rainfall has resulted in saturated soils across the watch area and may cause possible landslides in areas of steep terrain. Small streams and rivers could see considerable rises and some flooding is also possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A large area of moisture will continue to move into Kodiak Island over the next 48 hours. An additional 2-3 inches of rainfall is possible in the watch area through Saturday morning. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood - Stay away from steep barren hillsides due to the landslide danger.

Blizzard Warning issued April 18 at 10:57AM AKDT until April 18 at 4:00PM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK
* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches. * WHERE...Kuskokwim Coast, Toksook Bay area. * WHEN...Until 4 PM AKDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow and strong winds gusting 40 to 50 mph from the northwest overnight has led to reduced visibility of one half mile or less for several hours overnight. Latest observations have reduced visibility further to one quarter mile with heavy snow and sustained northwest winds of 35 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. The worst conditions are expected to continue through this morning and into the early afternoon before snow and winds ease a bit. Farther inland from the coast, rain is observed in Bethel and remains out of the threat. Farther west toward Nunivak Island, light snow showers at times with no reductions in visibility expected during the day today. Heavier snow is expected to return late tonight with the strongest winds shifting toward Nunivak Island.

Reduced visibility down to one half mile or less at times. * WHERE...Eastern Aleutians. * WHEN...Until 8 AM AKDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Gusty north winds up to 50 mph will reduce visibility within falling snow down to one half mile or less at times. By this evening precipitation should transition to all snow and persist through the morning hours on Friday. Conditions ease Friday morning as winds diminish and warming daytime temperatures see any remaining snow begin to transition back to a rain/snow mix.
