If traveling this morning, remain aware of localized dense fog through about 8 am. It mainly extends from northeast Iowa into southwest and central Wisconsin, along and south of Interstate 90. Thickest fog and lowest visibilities reside in river valleys. The fog can rapidly reduce visibilities to 1/4 mile or less. Expect the fog to dissipate by 8 am. Slow down and have your headlights on if you encounter the fog.

Reduced rain chances over the next several days should allow area rivers to level off and eventually lower. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Minnesota River at Montevideo. * WHEN...Until Thursday, May 16. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Low lying areas and some roads along the river begin flooding, along with some basements of houses along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 700 PM CDT Thursday, the stage was 15.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 700 PM CDT Thursday was 15.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Wednesday evening and continue falling to 10.6 feet Thursday, May 16. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
