Special Weather Statement
Special Weather Statement issued May 10 at 6:48AM CDT by NWS Grand Forks ND
Relative humidity values will drop into the middle 20 percent to upper 20 percent range along with northwest winds gusting up to 45 mph. Areas in the Red River Valley are expected to see the lowest RH values and gustiest winds. Given the extremely dry fuels, near critical fire weather conditions are expected through late this afternoon. Any fire that does develop has the potential to quickly spread. For more information on burning restrictions for Minnesota, see www.dnr.state.mn.us/forestry/fire/firerating_restrictions.html

Special Weather Statement issued May 10 at 6:43AM CDT by NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN
A cold front will push through this morning. Winds will shift northwest and increase to around 20 mph, with gusts of 30 to 35 mph this afternoon. In addition, drier air will move in and relative humidity values will drop into the 20s this afternoon, leading to a near-critical fire weather risk and the possibility of rapidly spreading fires. Check with your county or the DNR to see if there are any burn restrictions in place before starting fires. For more information on burning restrictions, consult www.dnr.state.mn.us/forestry/fire/firerating_restrictions.html.
