* WHAT...Elevated surf of 3-5 feet with sets up to 6 feet and astronomical tides of 6.0-6.5 feet expected, leading to minor tidal overflow. * WHERE...San Diego County Coastal Areas and Orange County Coastal Areas. * WHEN...From early Friday morning through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Minor tidal overflow and minor coastal erosion expected during high tides. Additionally, elevated surf will lead to strong rip currents. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tides are expected to be around 6.2 feet, gradually building over 6.5 feet by Sunday.

* WHAT...The Imperial County APCD has issued an air quality alert due to harmful levels of particle pollution from windblown dust. Levels of particle pollution can vary by time and location depending on emissions and local weather conditions. * WHEN...this afternoon, Sept 24 through this evening. * IMPACTS... Particle pollution can get deep into the lungs and cause serious health problems such as asthma attacks, heart and lung disease symptoms, and increased risk of lung infections. Everyone can be affected, but sensitive groups such as people with lung or heart disease, older adults, people who are pregnant, children, and those who spend a lot of time outdoors are at greater risk.
