Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 4 at 7:50AM EDT until May 4 at 2:00PM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC

* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding. * WHERE...Shoreline in Charles and King George Counties. * WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon, especially around the time of high tide. * IMPACTS...At 3.5 feet, water reaches yards near Cobb Island and docks near Dahlgren. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides one and a half to two feet above normal. The next high tide at Indian Head is at 5:30 PM. The next high tide at Goose Bay is at 1:36 PM. The next high tide at Dahlgren is at 12:23 PM.

Flash Flood Warning issued May 4 at 5:20AM EDT until May 4 at 8:30AM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA

FFWAKQ The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Southwestern Mecklenburg County in south central Virginia... * Until 830 AM EDT. * At 520 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Clarksville, Buffalo Springs, Nelson, Buffalo Junction and Skipwith.

* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Westmoreland, Richmond, Northumberland and Lancaster Counties. * WHEN...Until 4 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a low threat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of water above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks and lawns near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional tidal flooding is likely through Monday morning. Stay tuned for updates regarding the extension of the Coastal Flood Advisory.
