River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...North River at Palmyra. * WHEN...From this evening to late Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 13.5 feet, County Road 333, east of Palmyra, begins to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 12.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 13.5 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are anticipated over the next 2 days. 1-2 inches of rain has already fallen across the watch area with an additional 2 to 4 inches expected. At 19.1 feet, Water reaches the bottom of the South Main Street bridge over Wakenda Creek. At 19.8 feet, South Main Street along with Stonewall Street and Wabash Road on the south side of Carrollton are overtopped by flood waters. The James River continues to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 418 AM CDT, Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen across the James River basin over the last 24 hours. This has caused the James River to reach flood stage in east Springfield. Additional rainfall will move into the area this morning, likely causing additional rises. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
