Patchy fog, locally dense, is possible for the coastal plain until 5 AM tonight. Visibilities in the most dense pockets of fog will range from 0.25 to 1 mile. If traveling in this area, watch out for sudden reductions to visibility. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Fog has developed across much of the southern and central Coastal Plain and the Sandhills this morning with visibilities less than a half mile in some locations. The fog will be thickest across portions of Wayne, Wilson, Johnston and Sampson counties where visibilities may be a quarter mile or less. A cold front will move across the area over the next few hours and visibilities should greatly improve between 2 and 4 am. If driving, slow down, use your low beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Great Pee Dee River At Pee Dee affecting Marion and Florence Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Cape Fear River at William O Huske Lock And Dam 3. * WHEN...From Friday afternoon to late Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...At 45.0 feet, Flood waters will affect lowlands along the east bank of the river with some minor overflow along the west bank. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 36.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 44.7 feet Saturday morning.
