Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 854 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. Northeastern St. Landry Parish in central Louisiana... * Until 945 PM CDT. * At 635 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Simmesport, Moreauville, Palmetto, Morrow, Bayou Current, Plaucheville, Dupont, Goudeau, Big Cane, Lebeau, Whiteville, Big Bend, Grand Prairie and Hamburg.

* WHAT...Minor coastal flooding around Lake Maurepas and the western sides of Lake Pontchartrain. * WHERE...St. John The Baptist, Lower Tangipahoa, Southern Livingston and Upper St. Charles Parishes. * WHEN...Until 10 AM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...After multiple days of strong easterly to east-southeasterly winds water has surged into the tidal lakes and piled up on the western side. Impacts are minimal but will continue for at least 24 hours until the water can finally start to drain out through the Rigolets.
