Flash Flood Warning issued May 2 at 4:40PM CDT until May 2 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO

At 440 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding across the warned area. Several roads are closed in and near Pleasanton, and multiple roads are closed in the Pleasant Hill area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Areas that have seen flooding the past several days will be especially vulnerable. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. Neosho River near Parsons affecting Labette and Neosho Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River near Parsons. * WHEN...Until tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Flood waters spread over fields to a distance of 1 and one fourth miles. Several county roads, mainly along the left bank are inundated. Several residents which live along the right bank in the vicinity of Highway 400 may experience water entering their homes at basement levels. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 21.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this evening and continue falling to 10.2 feet early Tuesday afternoon. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
