High temperatures will range from the lower 90s to near 100 degrees this afternoon across the coastal plains. In addition, south to southeasterly winds will continue to provide a steady supply of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. The hot and humid conditions will combine to produce heat index values near 108 degrees for a few locations this afternoon. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside.
