* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in the most vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. * WHERE...In New Jersey, Hudson, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex and Eastern Union Counties. In New York, Richmond (Staten Island) and Southern Nassau Counties. * WHEN...From 9 AM this morning to noon EDT today. * IMPACTS...Brief minor flooding of the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.

Coastal Flood Advisory issued September 29 at 3:28AM EDT until September 29 at 2:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ

* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Ocean and Coastal Ocean. * WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...While additional flooding during high tides is expected to be spotty minor, persistent minor flooding is still expected for back bays into Monday.

When a severe thunderstorm warning is issued, the storm may produce damaging winds, large hail, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain. In some cases, heavy rainfall produced by a severe storm can also lead to flash flooding. Do not drive vehicles through flooded areas.
