Areas of locally dense fog will affect areas on top of the hill in Duluth late this morning and into this afternoon. Visibilities of 1/2 to 1/4 mile have already been observed, which should persist through the daylight hours. Visibilities are expected to improve this evening. If traveling today, reduce your speed and use low- beam headlights when encountering foggy areas. A Dense Fog Advisory may be needed. Keep updated on the latest forecast for fog development trends.

Winter Weather Advisory issued April 29 at 1:37AM CDT until April 29 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Duluth MN

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Northern Cook and Lake and Southern Cook Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Grand Portage Reservation. * WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The main concern is across the higher terrain of the North Shore. Not expecting ice accumulations on Highway 61 or locales adjacent to Lake Superior. The Gunflint Trail should be impacted though. Road temperatures may be warm enough to limit ice accumulations.
