Flood Advisory issued May 2 at 9:33AM CDT until May 2 at 12:45PM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of east central Kansas, including the following counties, Johnson, Linn and Miami and west central Missouri, including the following counties, Cass and Jackson. * WHEN...Until 1245 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 933 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kansas City, Lee's Summit, Grandview, Belton, Raymore, Pleasant Hill, Paola, Greenwood, Peculiar, Osawatomie, Louisburg, Lake Lotawana, Lake Winnebago, Lone Jack, Drexel, Cleveland, Freeman, Fontana, Lake Annette and West Line. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Neosho River at Oswego affecting Labette and Cherokee Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River near Parsons. * WHEN...Until tomorrow morning. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 25.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 21.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this evening and continue falling to 10.2 feet by Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

Neosho River at Oswego affecting Labette and Cherokee Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River at Oswego. * WHEN...Until early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 22.5 feet, Riverside Park Drive floods from east of Xavier St, just south of the river gage bridge, to 100 yards east towards the water plant. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 22.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 17.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.8 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

At 29.0 feet, Stateline Road is flooded north of the river gauge. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:46 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 30.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage tomorrow evening and continue falling to 13.6 feet Monday evening. - Flood stage is 27.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Marais Des Cygnes River at La Cygne affecting Linn County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Marais Des Cygnes River at La Cygne. * WHEN...Until late Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Low lying farmland and other rural land floods. At 30.0 feet, Highway 152 floods 0.75 miles west of La Cygne. If Middle Creek is also flooding Highway 152, the only route into or out of La Cygne will be the County Road, or 4th Street, leading north from La Cygne. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 29.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning and continue falling to 12.4 feet Monday evening. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
