Flood Advisory issued May 5 at 9:34PM EDT until May 6 at 12:45AM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the following county, Transylvania. * WHEN...Until 1245 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 932 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Brevard, Rosman, Dupont State Forest, Caesars Head State Park, Connestee, Cedar Mountain, Little River In Transylvania County, Penrose and Sassafras Mountain. - Areas along the upper reaches of the French Broad as well as the Little River. Small creeks and branches may experience rapid rises, and low water crossings may be impacted. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
