Southeastern Miami County in east central Kansas... * Until 430 PM CDT. * At 1030 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... At 30.0 feet, Highway 152 floods 0.75 miles west of La Cygne. If Middle Creek is also flooding Highway 152, the only route into or out of La Cygne will be the County Road, or 4th Street, leading north from La Cygne. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 29.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning and continue falling to 12.4 feet Monday evening. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
