HAZARDS...A snow squall accompanied by winds of 20 MPH which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than a quarter of a mile. These squalls may produce a quick half of an inch of snow they pass. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 851 PM EST, a snow squall was along a line extending from Krypton to Hazard to Gander to Daisy and moving southeast at 25 MPH. THIS SQUALL WILL BE NEAR... Hazard, Letcher, Vicco, Blackey, Arminta, Sassafras, Indian Bottom, Cordia, Carcassonne, and Defeated Creek around 855 PM EST. Flint, Oscaloosa, Van, Crown, Linefork, and Trailer around 900 PM EST. Whitesburg, Cumberland, Whitco, Kings Creek, Dongola, Marlowe, Ice, and Bellcraft around 905 PM EST. Partridge, Blair, Ermine, Kingdom Come S.P., Maggard, Day, Lewis Creek, and Colly around 910 PM EST. Lynch, Benham, Oven Fork, and Eolia around 915 PM EST. THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS... Hal Rogers Parkway between mile markers 52 and 59. Kentucky Highway 80 in Perry County between mile markers 9 and 11. SAFETY INFO... Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this squall. Rapid changes in visibility and slick roads may lead to accidents. The snow will accumulate so rapidly that it will be extremely difficult for the road crews to keep the roads clear. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination or if possible delay travel until the squalls have passed.

THIS SQUALL WILL BE NEAR... Jenkins, Wheelwright, Fleming-Neon, Pippa Passes, Potters Fork, Neon Junction, Buckingham, Hemphill, Thornton, and Whitaker around 855 PM EST. Dorton and Myra around 900 PM EST. THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS... Kentucky Highway 80 in Knott County between mile markers 6 and 17. U.S. Highway 23 in Lethcher County between mile markers 1 and 7. U.S. Highway 23 in Pike County between mile markers 0 and 6. SAFETY INFO... Prestonsburg, Dicks Creek, Davella, Delong, Davisport, Corn Fork Hollow, Pleasant, Endicott, and Odds around 850 PM EST. Prince and McCombs around 855 PM EST. McClure, Moree, and Preece around 900 PM EST. Jarad, Gulnare, Heenan, and Threeforks around 905 PM EST. Laura around 910 PM EST. THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS... Kentucky Highway 3 in Floyd County between mile markers 1 and 4. Kentucky Highway 3 in Johnson County Kentucky Highway 3 in Martin County between mile markers 1 and 7. Snow showers will gradually taper off to scattered flurries this evening. Although snowfall amounts will generally be an inch or less, the cold temperatures along with gusty northwest winds will allow the snow to stick on area roadways as it drifts. In addition, some pockets of black ice may occur. Motorists traveling this evening should be prepared to slow down as area roadways may be snow covered in spots along with the possibility for black ice to occur.
