At 1140 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Gaines County Airport, or near Seminole, moving north at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Seminole, Gaines County Airport, and Paynes Corner.

Flash Flood Warning issued September 15 at 10:21PM MDT until September 15 at 11:30PM MDT by NWS Midland/Odessa TX

At 1021 PM MDT /1121 PM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. The combination of hot temperatures and elevated humidity levels will produce heat index values between 108 and 111 degrees for several hours Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening. A few locations may briefly experience heat index values above 111 degrees. If you plan to spend time outside, drink plenty of water, wear light weight and light colored clothing and take frequent breaks from the heat. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.
