* WHAT...Heavy wet snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Big Belt, Bridger and Castle Mountains. * WHEN...Until midnight MDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, are likely snow covered and hazardous. Blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. Winds may cause further power outages.

Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Little Belt Mountains. * WHEN...Until midnight MDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible and tire chains may be required for some vehicles. Those in the backcountry should ensure they have appropriate knowledge and gear and may want to consider alternate plans. Widespread blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. Strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.

...Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity and increased in duration for the following rivers in Montana... Clear Creek at Chinook affecting Blaine County. For the Clear Creek...including Chinook...Major flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Clear Creek at Chinook. * WHEN...Until late Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet water is about 2 to 3 feet deep in corrals along Clear Creek. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:30 AM MDT Wednesday the stage was 8.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:30 AM MDT Wednesday was 8.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 8.2 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Friday morning. - Flood stage is 5.5 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 8.2 feet on 09/25/1986. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues. * WHERE...Portions of central and north central Montana, including the following counties, in central Montana, Fergus. In north central Montana, Blaine, Chouteau and Hill. * WHEN...Until noon MDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1001 AM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated rain and snowmelt. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 2 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.1 to 0.4 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
