Patches of dense fog have developed over eastern portions of central North Carolina this morning, causing visibilities to drop to between less than one mile in many locations in the Coastal Plain. This fog is expected to persist through mid morning. Motorists across the area are advised to slow down and drive with extra caution this morning, and be alert for sudden drops in visibility. Be especially careful near school zones, and watch for children near bus stops.
