At 1124 PM CDT, broadcast media has reported water over State Route 10 from thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Broadcast media reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Clinton, Farmer City, Wapella, Kenney, De Witt, Clinton Power Station, Lane and Weldon Springs State Park.

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...La Moine River at Ripley. * WHEN...From Sunday evening to Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Moderate flooding begins. Extensive cropland is flooded below the gauge near the LaGrange Lock Road bridge. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 18.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow evening to a crest of 22.6 feet Monday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet.

Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches in a short time are possible. With soils saturated from previous rainfall, this will lead to an increased risk of flash flooding.
