Coastal Flood Advisory issued September 29 at 1:35PM EDT until September 29 at 9:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ
* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in
low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
* WHERE...Ocean and Coastal Ocean.
* WHEN...Until 9 PM EDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only
isolated road closures expected.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Minor tidal flooding in the back bays of
Barnegat Bay is expected to continue through this afternoon and
possibly into early Wednesday morning's high tide cycle.
Further extensions of the advisory may be possible depending on
how quickly water drains out of the bay.
SAFETY and DATA MESSAGE
When a severe thunderstorm warning is issued, the storm may produce damaging winds, large hail, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain. In some cases, heavy rainfall produced by a severe storm can also lead to flash flooding. Do not drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water depth or fast flowing water/mud/debris from a flash flood will make road conditions unsafe.
