Southwest and Southern Plains
A lot of tropical moisture from Hurricane Polo is moving into Santa Fe, NM and the Southern Rockies bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday. The risk of too much rain continues into Wednesday hitting parts of the Southern Plains, with a focus on areas like Amarillo, TX. We're expecting widespread rainfall of 3-6 inches, possibly even more in some places. Flash flooding is a significant concern, so keep an eye on streams and rivers, especially in recently burned areas.
Flash floods might hit parts of New Mexico and western Texas on Tuesday, shifting towards the Southern Plains and Central Rockies by Wednesday. Considerable flooding might also affect areas like Omaha, NE into Des Moines, IA with the bulk of the rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. By Thursday, the downpours continue over the Southern Plains with more flash floods expected. Stay safe and avoid flooded roads.
Midwest
