Expect significant rainfall and potential flooding in New Mexico and the Southern High Plains through Thursday. Areas of the Ohio/Tennessee Valley, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast will also experience heavy rains through Wednesday. Here's what to look out for:

New Mexico and Southern High Plains

From Wednesday through Thursday, New Mexico and surrounding areas will experience heavy showers and thunderstorms due to strong upper-level forces. This means lots of rain, so watch for flash flooding, especially in valleys, near burns scars, and in cities. There's a 40% chance of heavy rain in parts, expanding into West Texas, Arizona, and Colorado with chances dropping to 15% and 5% in some areas, respectively. The boundary moving towards the northern Plains by late Wednesday into Thursday will bring more showers and thunderstorms.

Ohio/Tennessee Valley and Mid-Atlantic

From now through Wednesday, regions like the Ohio/Tennessee Valley, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast will remain moist and unstable with continued showers and thunderstorms. This could also lead to flash flooding. Meanwhile, along the surface trough, more severe thunderstorms can develop, especially over the Tennessee Valley. In southern Florida, expect daily heavy showers leading to possible flooding.
