On Wednesday, a strong storm system brings lots of moisture to the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies. This means heavy snow for the Cascades, Sierra Nevada, and Rockies, where some areas could see over 8 inches of accumulation, especially in southern Cascades and southern Oregon. The snowfall will start to let up by late Thursday but expect more snow in the Sierra Nevada through Friday. Why snow? This is due to the cold air moving in along the storm's path.
