Updated Wed Oct 21st 2026, 4:26am PDT

We've got an active weather event happening from New Jersey to North Carolina and across the Southwest. A Nor'easter is making waves with strong winds and potential coastal flooding along the Mid-Atlantic coast. Meanwhile, rain is on the move in the Southwest, with the possibility of flash flooding. Stay safe and informed!

Mid-Atlantic Nor'easter: Oct 21 & Oct 22

A Nor'easter is churning offshore and affecting the Mid-Atlantic coast. Folks from Atlantic City, NJ to Wilmington, NC can expect gusty winds over 40 mph, causing coastal flooding and rough seas, especially during high tides. These conditions will start improving by Thursday.

Rainy Southwest: Oct 21 to Oct 23

Down in the Southwest, a mix of tropical moisture and an upper trough means rain is coming, starting today. Phoenix, AZ and Santa Fe, NM will see scattered showers and thunderstorms. Central and Southern California including Los Angeles, CA may experience some heavy rain too. Watch for flash flooding today and Thursday, especially in the Four Corners.

Temperature Trends: Oct 21 to Oct 23

While the West cools down due to the cold front, the Central U.S., like Kansas City, MO, will enjoy warmer than average temperatures. In the East from Pittsburgh, PA to Boston, MA, it'll be a bit cooler with high pressure keeping skies clear.
