Flood Warning issued May 8 at 12:16AM AST until May 8 at 5:00AM AST by NWS San Juan PR

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of Puerto Rico, including the following counties, Dorado, Toa Alta and Toa Baja. * WHEN...Until 500 AM AST. * IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1214 AM AST, Sensors reports indicated the river is receding but still elevated. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Rio Cibuco_Coastal Watershed, Rio Lajas_Plata, Rio de la Plata, Coastal Drainage Watersheds, Rio de la Plata _Coastal Drainage Watersheds, Rio de la Plata_Coastal Drainage Watersheds and Rio Lajas _Plata. * WHAT...Flooding caused by water surges along Rio Grande de Arecibo due to previous excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of Puerto Rico, including the following counties, Arecibo and Utuado. * WHEN...Until 500 AM AST. * IMPACTS...Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1139 PM AST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to River Flooding. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Rio Tanama_Grande de Arecibo, Cano Tiburones Coastal Watershed, Rio Caonillas at Lago Caonillas Dam, Rio Tanama, River Underground_Camuy Watershed, Rio Grande de Arecibo, Rio Pellejas, Rio Vivi, Rio Limon, Coastal Watershed, Rio Grande de Manati, Rio Roncador, Rio Santiago and Rio Caonillas. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1134 PM AST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to River Flooding. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Rio Cibuco_Coastal Watershed, Coastal Watershed, Rio Grande de Manati and Rio Morovis. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of Puerto Rico, including the following counties, Fajardo, Loiza, Luquillo and Rio Grande. * WHEN...Until 145 AM AST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1047 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fajardo, Luquillo, Rio Grande, Playa Fortuna, Ramos, Hato Candal, La Dolores, Luis M. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Anasco. * WHEN...Until 545 AM AST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 848 PM AST, The station near San Sebastian of the Rio Grande de Anasco is currently indicating the the river is well above flood stage. This is associated to the excessive runoff from this afternoon heavy rainfall over Lares and vicinity. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Rio Grande de Anasco and Rio Humata. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected.
