Do not rely soley on data presented here or other third-party websites - always check your official national and local weather service agency website, socials, radio and/or TV stations for making critical decisions related to weather events.

Please carefully read each posted Warning and Alert as it relates to the area(s) being affected. Flood Advisory

Flood Advisory issued February 13 at 3:36AM EST until February 13 at 9:15AM EST by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC

* WHAT...Excessive rainfall may cause isolated, nuisance flooding of low-lying, flood-prone areas adjacent to the East Fork Pigeon River and its tributaries. * WHERE...Southeastern Haywood County * WHEN...Until 915 AM EST. * IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks, greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible. A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may become impassible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 317 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated light to moderate rain continues across Haywood County; however, rainfall is beginning to taper off from west to east. Additional rainfall amounts of up to a half inch are possible over the next 1-2 hours, but conditions will improve significantly heading towards daybreak. Regardless, over the past 24 hours, approximately 2.5-3.5 inches of rain has fallen over the East Fork Pigeon River watershed. This rainfall has been steady and rates have not been high enough to pose a flash-flood threat. However, these rainfall totals are sufficient enough to generate excessive runoff and notable rises on the East Fork Pigeon River and its tributaries. As a result, the East Fork is approaching bankfull in areas from Shining Rock Wilderness to Cruso and points downstream, and developing areas of nuisance flooding adjacent to the river are possible over the next few hours as stream levels continue to rise near to slightly above bankfull. Areas of greatest concern for lowland flooding include in the Cruso community near Camp Hope Rd, Ernest Rodgers Rd, Hungry Creek Rd, Campers Ln, and Chinquapin Rd. The East Fork Pigeon River streamgauge at Chinquapin Rd is currently at 4.9 feet and is rising slowly. It is possible the river will approach 5.5-6 feet before cresting. At these levels, flood impacts are expected to be isolated and of minimal severity. More significant flooding is not expected. Flows are not expected to be significant enough to cause flooding further downstream closer to Mundy Field Rd. - Some locations that may experience nuisance flooding include... Cruso. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood For more information on stream levels, impacts, and inundation, visit fiman.nc.gov.

Flood Advisory

Flood Advisory issued February 13 at 2:33AM EST until February 13 at 2:15PM EST by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC

* WHAT...Excessive rainfall is causing nuisance flooding of low-lying, flood-prone areas adjacent to streams. * WHERE...Northeastern Swain County, North Carolina * WHEN...Until 215 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks, greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible. A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may become impassible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 209 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated significant rainfall has ended across Swain County. However, over the past 24 hours, approximately 2.5-3.5 inches of rain has fallen over the Oconaluftee and Deep Creek watersheds above Cherokee and Bryson City. This steady rainfall has caused the Oconaluftee River, Deep Creek, and their tributaries to rise near or above bankfull levels, resulting in developing nuisance flooding of adjacent low- lying areas. Expect high flows and nuisance flooding to worsen over the next few hours before streams crest and conditions gradually improve later this morning. Areas most likely to experience nuisance flooding include along greenways and parks near Tsali Blvd and US 19, as well as low-lying woodlands and farmland along Newfound Gap Rd and Big Cove Rd. Also, Deep Creek near the entrance to the Deep Creek recreation area may be flooding adjacent low-lying areas near W Deep Creek and E Deep Creek roads. - Some locations that may experience nuisance flooding include... Bryson City, Cherokee, Smoky Mountains-Oconaluftee, Smoky Mountains-Deep Creek, and Whittier. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood For more information on stream levels, impacts, and inundation, visit fiman.nc.gov.

* WHAT...Excessive rainfall will cause nuisance flooding of low-lying, flood-prone areas adjacent to Mud Creek, Bat Fork Creek, and their tributaries. * WHERE...Central Henderson County, North Carolina * WHEN...Until 145 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks, greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible. A few flood- prone, low-water crossings may become impassible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 149 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated steady light to moderate rain continues across Henderson County. Over the past 24 hours, approximately 2-3 inches of rain has fallen. Approximately 0.40-0.60 inches of that rainfall has occurred since midnight. This steady rainfall has caused some streams, including Mud Creek, Bat Fork Creek, and their tributaries to rise near or above bankfull levels, resulting in developing nuisance flooding of adjacent low-lying areas. Expect high flows and nuisance flooding to worsen over the next several hours before streams crest and conditions gradually improve later this morning. An additional 1.00-1.50 inches of rainfall is likely, exacerbating high flow and nuisance flood conditions. - The following streamgauge has exceeded Action/Advisory Stage, resulting in nuisance flooding along Mud Creek... ...The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Flood Advisory for the Tuckasegee River in North Carolina... Below Everett St, in Bryson City affecting Swain County. .Steady light to moderate rainfall over the past 24 hours has caused tributaries feeding the Tuckasegee River upstream of Bryson City to rise, resulting in increasing flows into the Tuckasegee River. Storm-total rainfall of 2.5-3.5 inches has been observed. As a result, the river is expected to approach Action/Advisory Stage later this morning, crest slightly above Action/Advisory Stage by early this afternoon, then fall back below bankfull levels by this evening. This will result in nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to the river, including near Bear Hunter Campground, Old River Rd, and possibly portions of Bryson City Island Park. * WHAT...Excessive rainfall is expected to cause nuisance flooding of low-lying, flood-prone areas adjacent to the Tuckasegee River. * WHERE...Tuckasegee River below Everett St, in Bryson City. * WHEN...From early this morning to this evening. * IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Action/Advisory Stage. This has caused Richland Creek near Old Balsam Rd to rise near and possibly above bankfull levels, especially near Hyatt Creek Rd, Pinnacle Dr, Stephens Rd, and Wilkinson Pass Ln. Floodwaters may approach outbuildings closest to Richland Creek near these areas and cause shallow flooding over the next few hours. Additionally, flooding of low-lying areas downstream of Lake Junaluska near County Rd, Daniel Ln, and Crabtree Rd may also occur over the next several hours as Richland Creek crests 1-2 feet above bankfull levels. No additional significant rainfall is expected. - Some locations that may experience nuisance flooding include...
