Flash Flooding Risk in Southwest & Coastal Showers in Northeast - 10-19 to 10-21
CONUS — The Southwest will see a significant risk of flash flooding on Monday, while the Northeast Coast experiences showers from a coastal storm through Tuesday. California will also have scattered showers as a low-pressure system moves southward.
Northeast & Mid-Atlantic: Monday to Wednesday
A storm system off the coast will bring rain showers along parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast through Wednesday. Expect strong northeasterly winds affecting areas from Southern New Jersey to North Carolina's Outer Banks. This can lead to moderate coastal flooding and beach erosion due to persistent onshore winds.
Southwest: Monday
In Southeastern Arizona and Southwestern New Mexico, expect scattered thunderstorms with a chance of heavy rainfall and potential flash flooding due to enhanced moisture and instability. This happens because a storm system carries Pacific moisture into the region.
West Coast: Monday to Tuesday
A weather system moving southward along the coast will cause scattered showers in Northern California on Monday, spreading to central and southern parts by Tuesday. The showers are a result of cooling air, combined with Pacific moisture, moving south.
Southeast: Through Tuesday
The Florida Peninsula will have scattered showers and thunderstorms due to a weak frontal boundary and moist Atlantic air moving in.
