Muskegon River at Newaygo affecting Newaygo County. .Water from heavy rains over the weekend continue to move into and through the river systems. Minor flooding is occuring along sections of the Muskegon River as well as the Grand River. Flood conditions will begin to improve in the next day or two. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Muskegon River at Newaygo. * WHEN...Until early Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, The river starts exceeding its banks and minor flooding begins in low lying areas along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:45 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 11.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:45 AM EDT Tuesday was 11.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Thursday morning and continue falling to 10.3 feet Tuesday, March 24. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.3 feet on 04/19/2019. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
