Special Weather Statement issued April 27 at 8:39PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL

At 839 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Donahue to Blue Grass. Movement was east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Strong winds could break small tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Davenport, Moline, Rock Island, Bettendorf, Clinton, East Moline, Silvis, Eldridge, Colona, Camanche, Le Claire, Fulton, Hampton, Port Byron, Walcott, Erie, Blue Grass, Buffalo, Garden Plain, and Rapids City. This includes the following highways... Interstate 74 in Iowa between mile markers 1 and 5. Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 282 and 306. Interstate 80 in Illinois between mile markers 1 and 7. Interstate 74 in Illinois between mile markers 1 and 3. Interstate 88 between mile markers 1 and 19. Interstate 280 between mile markers 1 and 11.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued April 27 at 8:38PM CDT until April 27 at 8:45PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL

The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with these thunderstorms. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for southeastern Iowa. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service the Quad Cities.
