Special Weather Statement issued May 21 at 1:27AM CDT by NWS Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN

At 126 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Forest Lake, or 21 miles southeast of Cambridge, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Forest Lake, Chisago City, Lindstrom, St. Croix Falls, Stacy, Taylors Falls, Center City, Wyoming, and Shafer. This includes the following highways... Interstate 35 between mile markers 130 and 140. U.S. Highway 8 in Minnesota between mile markers 0 and 5, and between mile markers 7 and 22. U.S. Highway 61 between mile markers 163 and 164.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central and east central Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin. * WHEN...From 7 AM CDT this morning through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms should occur from early Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.
