* WHAT...Visibilities below 1 mile possible in freezing fog. * WHERE...In North Carolina, Robeson County. In South Carolina, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, and Marlboro Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Freezing Fog Advisory issued January 19 at 12:19AM EST until January 19 at 8:00AM EST by NWS Columbia SC

* WHAT...Visibility less than one half mile in freezing fog. * WHERE...Chesterfield County. * WHEN...Until 8 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, could become slick and hazardous tonight and in the morning.

Lingering moisture and puddles from earlier rainfall will create patchy black ice on area roads during the overnight and early morning hours. Icy spots could form on paved surfaces such as bridges and overpasses, primary and secondary roads, parking lots, sidewalks and driveways. Some isolated areas of freezing fog are also possible overnight and in the early morning which could lead to some additional slick spots, especially on elevated roadways.

Icy spots could form on paved surfaces such as bridges and overpasses, primary and secondary roads, parking lots, sidewalks and driveways. Black ice is difficult to see and distinguish from dry surfaces. The deceptive nature of black ice can catch you unaware while you are driving or walking, causing you to lose control of your motor vehicle or to slip and fall.
