FFWTWC The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Northwestern Pima County in southeastern Arizona... * Until 1000 PM MST. * At 702 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Ventana. This includes the following streams and drainages... Anegam Wash, Gu Achi Wash and San Simon Wash.

At 658 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Morristown, or 8 miles east of Wickenburg, moving east at 5 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Circle City, Wittmann, and Morristown. This includes the following highways... US Highway 60 between mile markers 114 and 131. AZ Route 74 between mile markers 1 and 10.

Increasing south to southwest winds on Saturday combined with dry conditions will lead to critical fire conditions Saturday late morning through the evening in western Arizona. The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM MST Saturday. * AFFECTED AREA...In AZZ102...Fire weather zone 102. * TIMING...Saturday from 11 AM MST through 8 PM MST. * WIND...South to southwest at 15 to 20 MPH with gusts up to 30 MPH. * HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) has issued an Ozone (OZ) High Pollution Advisory for the Tucson Metro area Friday. This means that forecast weather conditions combined with existing ozone levels are expected to result in local maximum 8-hour ozone concentrations that pose a health risk. Adverse health effects increase as air quality deteriorates. Ozone is an air contaminant which can cause breathing difficulties for children, older adults, as well as persons with respiratory problems. A decrease in physical activity is recommended. You are urged to car pool, telecommute, or use mass transit. The use of gasoline-powered equipment should be reduced or done late in the day.
