Raccoon River at Des Moines Fleur Dr affecting Polk County. .The threat of flooding in the Des Moines metro area has subsided for the time being, based on rainfall projections through today and tonight. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...The East Fork Des Moines River near Algona, or from Buffalo Creek near Burt...to Lotts Creek near Livermore. * WHEN...Until early Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, US 169 south of Algona is threatened and some rural roads flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:15 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 16.8 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow evening to a crest of 17.1 feet early Friday morning.
