Flood Advisory issued May 5 at 5:38AM EDT until May 5 at 8:30AM EDT by NWS Columbia SC

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central South Carolina, including the following county, Lexington. * WHEN...Until 830 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 538 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lexington, Cayce, Springdale, Red Bank, Oak Grove, South Congaree, Pine Ridge, Columbia Metro Airport, Gilbert, Red Bank Sports Complex, Barr Lake and Edmund. - This includes Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 42 and 60. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
