Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated and official weather observation. At 253 PM, at wind gust to 40 mph was observed at Lumberton Municipal Airport. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Lumberton, Elizabethtown, Pembroke, Fairmont, St. Pauls, Bladenboro, Fair Bluff, Boardman, Bladen Community College, Butters, Hestertown, Buie, Robeson Community College, White Oak, Smiths, Howellsville, Abbottsburg, Tolarsville, Duart, and Cherry Grove. This includes Interstate 95 in North Carolina between mile markers 11 and 32.

* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...The lower Cape Fear River including downtown Wilmington. * WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...The lowest portions of USS North Carolina Road and Battleship Road begin to observe minor coastal flooding. Water begins to spread out of storm drains onto Water Street just south of Market Street in downtown Wilmington. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Affected areas listed are based on average tide conditions. Additional locations may experience flooding during periods of heavy rainfall, high winds, or other factors.

Some thunderstorms will produce very heavy rainfall. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following areas, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin, southwest Virginia, including the following areas, Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, Tazewell and Wythe, and southeast West Virginia, including the following area, Mercer. * WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
