...The National Weather Service in Peachtree City GA has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Georgia... Big Creek at GA 9 near Cumming affecting Forsyth County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Big Creek at GA 9 near Cumming. * WHEN...Until late tonight. * IMPACTS...At 6 feet, Flood stage is reached. Minor flooding will expand into the natural flood plain of the creek upstream and downstream from the gage at Atlanta Highway or Georgia Highway 9. Large portions of the sidewalk and boardwalk of the Big Creek Greenway will begin to flood. The areas under the Georgia 400 Highway and McFarland Road will be covered with around one foot of water. A portion of the sidewalk under Majors Road will be covered with around two feet of water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:45 PM EST Wednesday the stage was 5.2 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this evening to 6.1 feet late this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late this evening to 4.7 feet late tonight. It will rise to 5.3 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall again and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 6 feet.

Sweetwater Creek near Austell affecting Cobb and Douglas Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Sweetwater Creek near Austell. * WHEN...From Thursday morning to Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 10 feet, Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding occurs in the woodlands and fields upstream and downstream from the gage near the Interstate 20 bridge. Portions of a paintball playing field just downstream of the bridge begin to flood. Athletic fields in the Woodrow Wilson Park on Mount Vernon Road begin to flood due to water backing up in ditches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:45 PM EST Wednesday the stage was 5.2 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late Thursday morning to a crest of 10.4 feet Thursday evening. It will then fall below flood stage late Thursday evening. - Flood stage is 10 feet.

Chattooga River at Summerville affecting Chattooga County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Chattooga River at Summerville. * WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 16 feet, Minor flooding continues and expands further into the woodlands and fields along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on U.S. Highway 27 or Rome Boulevard. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:45 PM EST Wednesday the stage was 4 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Thursday afternoon to a crest of 15.8 feet early Friday morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Friday morning. - Flood stage is 14 feet.

Lookout Creek near New England affecting Hamilton and Dade Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Lookout Creek near New England. * WHEN...From late tonight to late Thursday night. * IMPACTS...At 15 feet, Minor flooding continues to expand along Sells Lane in Trenton...Mason Road near Rising Fawn...and Creek Road near New England. These roads and other roads with creeks flowing into Lookout Creek will flood causing the roads to be closed. The water will be a few feet deep on portions of these roads. Also minor flooding will continue to expand downstream as the creek crosses the Tennessee border into the Tiftonia area. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:15 PM EST Wednesday the stage was 8.4 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 14.5 feet Thursday morning. Big Creek near Alpharetta affecting Forsyth and Fulton Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Big Creek near Alpharetta. * WHEN...From this afternoon to Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Minor flooding expands along the creek from near Cumming to Alpharetta and Roswell. Backyards of homes off Seale Drive and Gunter Court and portions of the Golf of Georgia are under a foot of water. The Big Creek Greenway experiences significant flooding up to 4 feet deep with closure of the paths. This especially occurs upstream and downstream from the gage on Kimball Bridge Road and Rock Mill Park. A large portion of the YMCA Campground off Preston Ridge Road will be under a two feet of water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:30 PM EST Wednesday the stage was 6.2 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 9.8 feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 7 feet.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, northwest, and west central Georgia, including the following areas, in north central Georgia, Barrow, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dawson, DeKalb, Douglas, Fannin, Fayette, Forsyth, Gilmer, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Lumpkin, Newton, North Fulton, Pickens, Rockdale, South Fulton, Union and Walton. In northeast Georgia, Banks, Jackson, Towns and White. In northwest Georgia, Bartow, Carroll, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, Paulding, Polk, Walker and Whitfield. In west central Georgia, Coweta, Heard, Meriwether, Pike, Spalding and Troup. * WHEN...Through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Several waves of precipitation will move through the area through Thursday morning. Total rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected with locally higher amounts of up to 6 inches possible. Flood Warning issued February 12 at 8:00AM EST until February 14 at 2:42PM EST by NWS Morristown TN

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Tennessee...Georgia... South Chickamauga Creek Near Chickamauga TN affecting Hamilton and Catoosa Counties. Sequatchie River Near Whitwell TN affecting Sequatchie, Marion and Bledsoe Counties. For the South Chickamauga...including Chickamauga TN...Minor flooding is forecast. For the Sequatchie River...including Whitwell TN...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...South Chickamauga Creek near Chickamauga TN. * WHEN...From late tonight to early Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Water begins to cross Mack Smith Road in Catoosa County, Georgia. Flooding begins at golf courses near the confluence of South and West Chickamauga Creeks. West Chickamauga Creek begins to overflow its banks, as well. At 19.0 feet, Water across Mack Smith Road begins to impede traffic. West Chickamauga Creek overflows its banks near the Georgia state line and inundates several roads and properties in the area. At 20.0 feet, Mack Smith Road is closed. Water crosses Lovell Field Loop, the access road around the north end of the airport runway. At 21.0 feet, Mack Smith Road and Lovell Field Loop become impassable. Water begins to come onto Airport Road, just north of the terminal complex. West Chickamauga Creek increases to near a half mile wide in places, becoming hazardous to adjacent travel in East Ridge. At 22.0 feet, Airport Road is closed to traffic. A couple of homes are slightly flooded near intersection of Mack Smith Road and May Street. Flooding becomes extensive around the north end of the airport. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:15 AM EST Wednesday the stage was 10.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tonight to a crest of 20.5 feet tomorrow evening.
