...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING FOR RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF 15% OR LESS, 20-FT WINDS OF 20 MPH OR MORE, AND VERY HIGH TO EXTREME FIRE DANGER FOR THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS, SACRAMENTO FOOTHILLS, AND EDDY AND CHAVEZ COUNTY PLAINS... * TIMING...This afternoon through this evening. * WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Higher wind speeds in the mountains. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 7 percent. * RFTI...5 to 6 or critical. * IMPACTS...Avoid the use of open flames or any activities that may generate sparks. Accidental ignitions will have the potential to grow into dangerous wind-driven wildfires.

...The Flood Advisory continues for the following rivers in New Mexico... Rio Chama Below Chamita affecting Rio Arriba County. .Snow melt and increased reservoir releases will cause the river flows to become high. Expect minor flooding downstream from the dam. * WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt continues. * WHERE...Rio Chama below Chamita. * WHEN...Until early Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 5.5 feet, Bankfull stage. Properties immediately adjacent to the river upstream of the bridge on SR-74 and especially near the junction with the Rio Ojo Caliente may see water encroach onto low lying areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM MDT Wednesday the stage was 5.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 5.5 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise to 5.7 feet this evening. It will then fall to 5.5 feet tomorrow morning. It will rise to 5.6 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall to 5.4 feet Friday morning. It will rise to 5.5 feet early Friday afternoon.
