IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Lexington, Thomasville, Kernersville, Clemmons, Bermuda Run, Huntsville, and Lewisville.

At 309 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms and an outflow boundary along a line extending from near St. Pauls to near Butters to near Barnesville. Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated and official weather observation. At 253 PM, at wind gust to 40 mph was observed at Lumberton Municipal Airport. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Lumberton, Elizabethtown, Pembroke, Fairmont, St. Pauls, Bladenboro, Fair Bluff, Boardman, Bladen Community College, Butters, Hestertown, Buie, Robeson Community College, White Oak, Smiths, Howellsville, Abbottsburg, Tolarsville, Duart, and Cherry Grove. This includes Interstate 95 in North Carolina between mile markers 11 and 32.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Andrews, Murphy, Hayesville, Nantahala Lake, Tusquitee, Hiawasse Dam, Marble, and Unaka.

Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 6 at 2:35PM EDT until May 7 at 12:00AM EDT by NWS Wilmington NC

* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...The lower Cape Fear River including downtown Wilmington. * WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...The lowest portions of USS North Carolina Road and Battleship Road begin to observe minor coastal flooding. Water begins to spread out of storm drains onto Water Street just south of Market Street in downtown Wilmington. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Affected areas listed are based on average tide conditions. Additional locations may experience flooding during periods of heavy rainfall, high winds, or other factors.

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will cross southeast West Virginia, southwest Virginia, and northwest North Carolina this afternoon and evening. Some thunderstorms will produce very heavy rainfall. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following areas, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin, southwest Virginia, including the following areas, Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, Tazewell and Wythe, and southeast West Virginia, including the following area, Mercer. * WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of northwest North Carolina, including the following county, Ashe. * WHEN...Until 330 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 116 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rain producing storms which prompted the advisory have exited the area. However, runoff from those earlier storms is still collecting in streams and ditches, continuing the threat of minor flooding. Additionally, other showers or storms are still possible this afternoon which could generate more rainfall for the area. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Peak Creek, West Fork Pine Swamp Creek, Beaver Creek, Obids Creek, Naked Creek, Roten Creek, South Fork New River and Dog Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jefferson...
