A serious situation is unfolding as Hurricane Isaias makes its way toward the eastern Gulf coast on Friday, expected to bring strong winds and flooding from the Florida Panhandle to parts of Alabama and Georgia. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Rachel could bring heavy rain and potential flooding to Southern California and the Southwest starting late Saturday. Additionally, a significant pattern change will bring cooler weather to the West, ending the ongoing heatwave, and possible snow in the Northern Rockies on Saturday.

Friday's Weather

Hurricane Isaias will begin its impact on the Gulf coast. Expect strong winds and heavy rain moving from the eastern Gulf Coastal area into the Tennessee Valley and Southern Appalachians. Coastal areas, especially the Florida Panhandle and southern Alabama, will experience storm surges and potential flooding.
