* WHAT...Dangerous swimming conditions are expected along the Lake Superior shoreline due to high wave action and strong rip currents. * WHERE...Minnesota Park Point and Wisconsin Point Beaches. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...High wave action can make swimming difficult on days such as this. Incoming waves in rapid succession can tire even an experienced swimmer quickly. Rip currents can usher you away from land. To avoid being swept away, swim parallel to the shore to exit a rip current.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...In Wisconsin, Burnett and Washburn Counties. * WHEN...Until 1015 AM CDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 516 AM CDT Wednesday, Doppler radar showed additional showers and a few thunderstorms are spreading into the warned area. Between 1.5 and 6 inches of rain fell overnight, and an additional tenth to half inch of rain is possible in the next few hours. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Trego, Minong, Hertel, Saint Croix Band Sand Lake Area, Lampson, McKenzie Lake, Minong Flowage, Saint Criox Band Gaslyn area and Birch Island Lake. - Flood safety information can be found at www.weather.gov/safety/flood.

Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 517 AM CDT Wednesday, Doppler radar indicated additional showers and a few thunderstorms spreading into the warned area. Between 2 and 8 inches of rain have already fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of up to a half inch are possible in the next few hours. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
