Owyhee River near Mountain City affecting Elko County. .The Owyhee River near Mountain City is just below flood stage, and is expected to remain at or around it's current stage through the weekend and into next week. For the Owyhee River...including Wildhorse Dam, Wildhorse, Mountain City...elevated river levels are forecast. * WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt continues. * WHERE...Owyhee River near Mountain City. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Minor flooding along the river channel. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:10 PM PDT Wednesday the stage was 7.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will oscillate below flood stage with a maximum value of 7.8 feet Sunday afternoon. - Action stage is 7.0 feet. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

For the Lower Humboldt...including Comus...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Humboldt River at Comus. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Minor to moderate lowland flooding throughout the reach. Some rural roads near the river begin to flood. Very minor flooding begins in Winnemucca with storm drain backups, and the lowest parts of town begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:15 PM PDT Wednesday the stage was 9.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:15 PM PDT Wednesday was 9.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.2 feet late Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 9.5 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.2 feet on 06/21/1997. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
