CONUS — This forecast covers some impactful weather across the U.S. over the next couple of days. Southern Texas will face heavy rain, potentially leading to flash flooding. The Pacific Northwest should prepare for gusty winds and periods of showers. The rest of the country will enjoy mild to warm temperatures, although the Ohio Valley could experience some frosty mornings.
Southern Texas: A storm system is gathering moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, leading to heavy rain from the Rio Grande Valley to central Texas today through Monday morning. Expect several inches of rain, which could cause flash flooding in some areas. Showers will linger into Tuesday morning, but the intensity will decrease.
New England: Today, a low-pressure system will bring scattered showers, with some wet snow possible in the higher elevations of interior northern New England. Maine will clear out from the rain by late today. Another system from southern Canada will arrive later today into Monday, causing more showers across the region.
Pacific Northwest: Strong Pacific storm systems will bring rounds of rain and mountain snow today, with gusty winds along the coast and higher elevations. After a dry spell on Monday, another wave of unsettled weather will arrive Monday night.
General Weather: Most of the U.S. will enjoy dry and mild conditions due to a high-pressure system. Temperatures will be above average, with highs in the 50s to 70s across many areas. Notably warmer weather will be found in the northern High Plains and southern California, where temperatures will soar into the 60s to 80s. However, expect chilly mornings with possible frost in the Ohio Valley and Mid-South, where advisories are in place.
