Flood Advisory

Flood Advisory issued July 26 at 7:34PM MDT until July 26 at 10:30PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northeast New Mexico, including the following county, central Harding. * WHEN...Until 1030 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 732 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding, mainly along Mosquero Canyon leading to Highway 39. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... * WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest New Mexico, including the following county, Hidalgo. * WHEN...Until 915 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over roadways, including portions of I-10. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 717 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall of up to 0.3 to 0.6 inches is expected over the area. FFWABQ The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Southeastern Sandoval County in north central New Mexico... Western Santa Fe County in north central New Mexico... * Until 1015 PM MDT. * At 719 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 4 inches in 30 minutes. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Santo Domingo Pueblo, Kewa Pueblo, Madrid, San Felipe Pueblo and Domingo. This includes Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 254 and 264.

At 708 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Kewa Pueblo, or 16 miles northeast of Bernalillo, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Bernalillo, Santo Domingo Pueblo, San Felipe Pueblo, Kewa Pueblo, Santa Ana Pueblo, Madrid, Sandia Park, Golden, San Antonito, and Domingo. This includes the following highways... Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 240 and 264. Highway 550 near Mile Marker 1.
