At 140 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a congealed thunderstorm complex over the northwest quadrant of the Kansas City Metro Area. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Kansas City, Leavenworth, Gladstone, Lansing, Smithville, Bonner Springs, Parkville, Tonganoxie, Platte City, Basehor, Edwardsville, North Kansas City, Riverside, Weatherby Lake, Weston, Kansas City Kansas, Kansas City Intl Arpt, Lake Waukomis, Trimble, and Camden Point. This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 0 and 5. Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 410 and 423. * WHAT...Mainly minor flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of north central Kansas, including the following county, Phillips. * WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, along with possibly rural county roads and small creeks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1221 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain due to thunderstorms had been ongoing for the last few hours. Minor flooding is likely ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the Advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen, and another 1 to 2 inches is possible within the area before rain ends over the next few hours. - This includes the following streams and drainages...
