Please carefully read each posted Warning and Alert as it relates to the area(s) being affected. We may provide a wider range of issued severe weather warnings for surrounding cities and counties, so some alerts may not directly impact this location. This is done to help with preparing for severe weather that may overlap or be heading towards Terr Demajagua.

Flash Flood Warning

Flash Flood Warning issued September 20 at 7:25PM AST until September 20 at 10:00PM AST by NWS San Juan PR

At 725 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 5 inches of rain have fallen, with the highest accumulations along western Bayamon. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... San Juan, Bayamon, Guaynabo, Sabana Seca, Catano, Levittown, Candelaria, Candelaria Arenas, Campanilla, Ingenio and Mucarabones. Bayamon emergency managers reported a small stream near Sierra Linda affecting portions of road PR-167, which remains impassable. Additionally, they have reported two cars with two individuals stranded by flood waters near Negocio Campo Viejo, also along road PR-167.

Flood Advisory issued September 20 at 7:06PM AST until September 20 at 10:00PM AST by NWS San Juan PR

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Corozal, Dorado and Vega Alta. * WHEN...Until 1000 PM AST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 702 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms over Dorado and Corozal, where minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. As this thunderstorm drifts westward, heavy rain will affect Vega Alta, where there will be a potential for urban and small stream flooding. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

Toa Alta County in Puerto Rico... * Until 1000 PM AST. * At 701 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly, particularly in areas experiencing the heaviest rains in western sections of Toa Alta. Please report observed flooding to local emergency managers or 9 1 1 when you can do so safely. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Aguas Buenas, Comerio and Naranjito. * WHEN...Until 1000 PM AST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 652 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area.
